Number settings
Number name, incoming message sync, creating new contacts, call logging, the default number, channel mode and the disconnected-number warning.

Each WhatsApp number has its own settings: how it appears in the panel, whether incoming messages go to Conversations, whether a contact is created for unknown senders, and whether incoming calls are logged in the chat. This article covers those settings, the default number, and what happens when the connection drops.
Open the number settings
- On the Numaralar (Numbers) page, click the Ayarlar (Settings, gear) icon on the number's card.
- Change Numara adı (Number name) if needed. The name shows in the panel and on assignment screens; patients never see it.
- Turn the three switches below on or off as needed.
- Click Kaydet (Save).
| Setting | When on | When off |
|---|---|---|
| Gelen mesajlar (Incoming messages) | WhatsApp messages to the number appear in Conversations. | Incoming messages are not passed to the panel (the number is used for sending only). |
| Yeni kişi oluştur (Create new contact) | If a message comes from an unknown number, a contact is created in Contacts using the patient's WhatsApp profile name. | Only messages from existing contacts are passed on; others show as "Atlandı" (Skipped) in Mesaj Geçmişi (Message history). |
| Aramaları kaydet (Log calls) | Incoming WhatsApp voice/video calls are added to the chat as a "📞 WhatsApp sesli arama" (voice call) note. | Calls are not shown in the panel. |
The Webhook adresi (isteğe bağlı) (Webhook URL, optional) field at the bottom is for technical teams; see API and webhooks.
Tip
Keep Yeni kişi oluştur on for lines that receive patients from ads; otherwise first-time patients never reach the panel. Switching it off can make sense on a line you only use with existing patients.
The default number (★)
If your account has more than one number, one is marked Varsayılan (Default). When you write to a patient for the first time and no other rule applies (a user-specific number, or a number the patient has already talked to), the message goes from the default number. Messages sent through the API also use this number by default.
- The ★ Varsayılan badge on the number cards shows the current default; the status badge (Bağlı / Bağlı değil — Connected / Not connected) sits right next to it.
- To make another number the default, click the Varsayılan yap (Make default, star) icon on its card. Only account admins can do this.
- On a disconnected number, use the QR okut (Scan QR) button on the card to reconnect.
For the full order in which a number is chosen, see Users, teams and routing. In short: the conversation continues from the number the patient has already talked to; the default number only decides the first contact.
Delays and the "typing…" indicator
Before each message, WADOG waits a short, random time and the patient sees "typing…". This makes messages go out at a human-like pace and protects your number. Default timings:
| Message type | Wait |
|---|---|
| Replies a user types in Conversations, auto-replies | 1.5–4 seconds |
| Text sent by bulk actions, automations or the API | 3–6 seconds |
| Images/videos/documents sent by bulk actions, automations or the API | 7–10 seconds |
These timings are set system-wide and cannot be changed in the number settings. Details: Bulk sending and number safety.
Channel mode: replacing SMS, or a separate channel?
WADOG can connect to Conversations in two ways:
- Replacing SMS: every message you write from the SMS tab in Conversations goes out on WhatsApp. Suitable if you have no separate SMS line and use WhatsApp as your only channel.
- Separate WhatsApp channel: WhatsApp shows as its own channel in Conversations; your SMS line (if any) keeps working as SMS.
The channel mode is set for your account during setup and cannot be changed from the WADOG screens. You can see which mode you are in at the Sohbet kanalı (Chat channel) step of the Sorun Giderme → Giden mesajlar (Troubleshooting → Outgoing messages) wizard. If you'd like to change it, message our support team on WhatsApp.
Disconnected-number warning
When a number's WhatsApp connection drops:
- The number card gets a red border and the warning "Bağlantı … koptu. Mesajlar gönderilemiyor, QR kodu tekrar okutun." (Connection dropped … Messages can't be sent, scan the QR code again.)
- A warning with a QR okut button appears at the top of the Ana Sayfa (home page).
- Messages the panel tries to send from this number are retried automatically for a few minutes; if the connection doesn't come back, they are marked failed in Conversations.
- While the number is down, incoming messages don't reach the panel; patients can still write to you and you'll see their messages on the phone.
Important
As soon as you notice a disconnected number, scan the QR again and resend the failed messages from Conversations. Short drops (e.g. the phone losing internet for a moment) usually recover on their own.
If you want disconnects reported to your team separately (e.g. by email or a WhatsApp notification), our team can configure this during setup.
Common issues
A new patient wrote but doesn't appear in the panel. Check that Gelen mesajlar and Yeni kişi oluştur are on in the number settings. If the message shows as "Atlandı" in Mesaj Geçmişi, that's the reason.
I can't see the Make default icon. It is only visible to account admins, and only on numbers that aren't already the default.
