Connect a number by QR
Connect your WhatsApp number to WADOG by scanning a QR code and send a test message; connection statuses, disconnecting and removing a number.

Connecting a WhatsApp number to WADOG takes a few minutes: you give the number a name in the panel, then scan the QR code from WhatsApp's Linked devices screen on the phone. From the moment the connection is made, messages to that number appear in Conversations.
Before you start
- The WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app for the number must be installed and working on the phone.
- The phone must be online and in your hand while you scan the QR code.
- WhatsApp allows a limited number of linked devices per account at the same time. Log out of old sessions you no longer use (old computers, forgotten WhatsApp Web sessions) first.
- There is no limit on numbers: you can connect as many as you like to one account. Repeat these steps for each number.
Tip
If you can, do your first try with a second line rather than the clinic's main number. Once you know the flow, connect your main number.
Add a number and scan the QR code
- In the WADOG left menu, open Numaralar (Numbers).
- Click Numara ekle (Add number) in the top right.
- In Numara adı (Number name), type the name shown in the panel (e.g. "Patient coordination line" or "Elif's line"; 2–60 characters) and click Devam et ve QR okut (Continue and scan QR).
A window with a QR code opens. Now switch to the phone:
- Open WhatsApp on the phone and go to Settings › Linked devices (on iPhone, Settings at the bottom right; on Android, the ⋮ menu at the top right).
- Tap Link a device; the phone may ask for your passcode or face/fingerprint check.
- Point the phone's camera at the QR code in the panel. When the connection is made, the window shows Numara bağlandı (Number connected) and closes by itself.
The QR code refreshes every few seconds; if it expires before you scan it, just wait for the next one. If you see an Eşleştirme kodu (Pairing code) under the window, you can also use it with WhatsApp's "link with phone number" option.
After connecting, the number card shows the phone number and the status changes to Bağlı (Connected). When a user (not an admin) adds a number, it automatically becomes private to that user; a number added by an admin can be used by everyone until it is assigned. See Users, teams and routing.
Send a test message
Send a test message to your own phone to confirm the connection works:
- Click the Test mesajı (Test message) icon on the right of the number card (active only on Bağlı numbers).
- In Alıcı telefon (Recipient phone), enter the number with country code (e.g. 447700900123), edit the message and click Gönder (Send).
Note
The test message goes directly over WhatsApp and is not written to Conversations. To test the real flow, write to your number from another phone and check that the message appears in Conversations and that your reply reaches the phone.
Connection statuses
| Status | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Bağlı (Connected) | The number works; you can send and receive. | — |
| Bağlanıyor (Connecting) | Waiting for the QR scan, or reconnecting. | Keep the QR window open; check the phone's internet. |
| Bağlı değil (Not connected) | The connection dropped or was never made. Messages can't be sent and incoming messages don't reach the panel. | Reconnect with QR okut (Scan QR) on the card. |
When a connection drops, a red warning ("Bağlantı … koptu" — connection dropped) appears on the number card, and the home page shows a warning that a number has disconnected. See Number settings.
Phone requirements
- The panel works as a "linked device" independent of the phone; the phone's screen doesn't need to stay on.
- Still, don't leave the phone switched off or offline for long, and open WhatsApp regularly. WhatsApp can log linked devices out when the main phone stays offline for a long time.
- If you delete the panel session from Linked devices on the phone, the connection drops and you need to scan the QR again.
- If you move WhatsApp to another phone, or delete and reinstall the app, reconnect the number.
Disconnect or remove a number
Using the icons on the right of the number card:
- Bağlantıyı kes (Disconnect): the number logs out of WhatsApp; its settings and assignments stay in the panel. To use it again, scan the QR code.
- Kaldır (Remove, bin icon): the number is removed from this account and its WhatsApp connection is deleted. If the number is also shared with another account, it is only removed from this one and keeps working in the others.
Heads up
When you remove a number, messages still waiting in its queue are not sent and are marked as failed in the panel. Don't remove a number while a bulk send is running.
Example: your patient coordinator Zeynep goes on leave and you won't use her line for a while. Bağlantıyı kes is enough; when she's back she scans the QR again and her assignments are unchanged.
Common issues
The QR code doesn't appear or keeps loading. Refresh the page and open the window again. If it continues, see Troubleshooting.
I scanned the QR code but it says the device couldn't be linked. Check the phone's internet, update WhatsApp, remove some linked devices and try again.
The number connected but the test message didn't arrive. Make sure you entered the recipient with country code and without a leading + or 0.
