Google Ads report

Track clicks, cost, leads and sales from your Google search ads alongside your MedicalGrow data.

3 min read

The Google Ads report matches spend and clicks from your Google ad account with the leads and sales in MedicalGrow. A patient searching "Turkey dental implants" is actively looking for treatment; this report shows what that high-intent demand costs you and how much of it turns into operations.

Before you start

  • Connect your Google Ads account to MedicalGrow: Google Ads integration. If you use a manager (MCC) account, make sure you select the correct client account.
  • Auto-tagging must be switched on in Google Ads. Every click then carries a click ID (gclid), and the person who fills in the form is linked to the right campaign.
  • Ads should point to a page with a MedicalGrow form or calendar.

Opening and reading the report

  1. Open Reporting → Google Ads and select the correct ad account in the top-right corner.
  2. Choose the date range.
  3. Review the summary metrics: spend, impressions, clicks, leads, CPL and sales.
  4. Compare campaigns in the campaign table; click a campaign to see its details.

Leads and Sales are counted from opportunities in the CRM.

  • 1Ad account
  • 2Date range
  • 3Summary metrics
  • 4Campaign table
Google Ads report: ad account, date range, summary metrics and campaign table.

What the metrics mean

MetricMeaning
Amount spent / CostAd spend in the selected period.
Impressions, Clicks, CTRImpressions, clicks and click-through rate.
Avg. CPCAverage cost per click.
Conversions / Cost per conversionConversions defined in Google Ads and the cost of each.
Leads / CPLLeads created as open opportunities in the CRM, and cost per lead.
Sales / Revenue / ROIWon opportunities, their value and the return on spend.

Note

"Conversions" are counted by Google; "Leads" are the real records created as opportunities in MedicalGrow. If the two differ, check how conversions are defined in Google Ads (a page view or a form submission, for example).

What to look at

  • Search terms: add expensive keywords that never produce sales (e.g. "free dental implants") as negative keywords. You do this in Google Ads.
  • Country and language: run a separate campaign per country (UK_Implants_Search, DE_Veneers_Search) so CPL and sales can be compared by country.
  • Phone calls from search ads: if patients call straight from the ad, review those calls together with Call Reporting.

Example

A "dental implants Turkey" campaign targeting the UK looks more expensive than Facebook at 58 leads and €39 CPL. But with 5 sales and €24,000 in revenue, its cost per sale is lower. Search ads usually bring fewer but more decided patients; base your decision on cost per sale and revenue rather than CPL.

Troubleshooting

The report is empty or spend is zero. The wrong client account may be selected. Check the email, manager account and ad account selections in the integration.

Spend shows but Leads is zero. Auto-tagging may be off, or the ad may lead to a page without a MedicalGrow form.

I renamed a campaign and lost its history. Do not rename campaigns after they go live; create a new campaign if needed.
