Facebook Ads report
Track spend, leads, cost per lead and the sales your Facebook and Instagram ads bring in, all on one screen.

The Facebook Ads report combines the spend in your Facebook and Instagram ad account with the lead and sales data in MedicalGrow. Ads Manager tells you how many forms were filled in; this report shows how many of those forms became consultations, deposits and treatments.
Before you start
- Your Facebook account must be connected to MedicalGrow, with access to your ad account granted during the connection: Connecting Facebook and Instagram.
- If you use lead forms, make sure they flow into the CRM: Facebook lead forms.
- The person connecting the account needs at least permission to view reports on the ad account in Facebook.
Opening and reading the report
- Open Reporting → Facebook Ads and select the correct ad account in the top-right corner.
- Choose the date range. We recommend "last 7 days" for weekly reviews and "last 30 days" for budget decisions.
- Review the summary metrics at the top: spend, impressions, clicks, leads, CPL and sales.
- In the campaign table, compare which campaign has the lowest CPL and the highest revenue. Click a campaign to drill down to ad set and ad level.
What the metrics mean
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Amount spent | Total ad spend in the selected period. |
| Impressions / Clicks | How many times the ad was shown and clicked. |
| Leads | People from this campaign recorded in the CRM as open opportunities. |
| CPL (cost per lead) | Spend ÷ number of leads. |
| Sales | Opportunities from this campaign marked as Won. |
| Revenue | Total value of won opportunities. |
| CPS / ROI | Cost per sale and return relative to spend. |
Important
Leads, Sales and Revenue come from opportunities in your CRM, not from Facebook. If your team does not create opportunities, or does not mark won patients as "Won", these columns will show zero. See Stages and status.
Adding URL parameters to your ads
For ads that send traffic to your website, MedicalGrow needs URL parameters on the ad link to know which campaign a lead came from. You set this up in Facebook Ads Manager:
- Edit the ad, open Build a URL parameter in the Tracking section and enter: Campaign source
fb_ad, Campaign medium{{adset.name}}, Campaign name{{campaign.name}}, Campaign content{{ad.name}}. Also add a custom parametercampaign_id={{campaign.id}}. - Save and publish the ad. Parameters do not show in previews; they only work once the ad is live.
Heads up
Campaign, ad set and ad names must be unique and must not be changed after publishing. If you use the name "Implant Campaign" twice, the data gets mixed up.
Tip: include the country and treatment in campaign names (e.g. DE_Implant_Sep, UK_Veneers_LeadForm). You can then compare performance by country at a glance.
Example
A clinic running veneer ads in the UK sees that UK_Veneers_LeadForm runs at €19 CPL with 11 sales, while the hair transplant video campaign in the Netherlands sits at €31 CPL with 1 sale. Decision: pause the Dutch campaign, move the budget to the UK campaign and test a new creative.
Troubleshooting
Spend shows but Leads is zero. URL parameters may be missing, the lead form integration may not be connected, or opportunities are not being created for leads.
The ad account is not in the list. Ad account access was not granted during the Facebook connection. Reconnect: Integration troubleshooting.
Spend differs between Facebook and the report. Check the time zone and date range; Facebook data can arrive a few hours late.
