Connect Google Ads
Connect your Google Ads account to see spend and conversions in reports, and use GCLID to know which ads bring patients.

Google Ads is the most direct way to reach patients searching for treatment with queries like "hair transplant Turkey" or "dental implants Istanbul price". Connect your account to MedicalGrow and you'll see ad spend, clicks and campaign results in the panel — and, thanks to GCLID, measure which campaigns actually bring consultations and procedures.
What it gives you
- Reporting: spend, impressions, clicks and conversions by campaign, ad group and keyword in the Google Ads report and Dashboard widgets.
- Attribution: patients from Google ads show campaign details on their contact record, and the Attribution report follows the chain from lead → appointment → sale.
- Cost per patient: with spend and won opportunities side by side, "what does one implant patient cost us?" is answered in the panel.
Before you start
- A Google account with at least Standard (ideally Admin) access to the Google Ads account.
- If an agency runs your ads, your account is probably under a Manager account (MCC); connect together with someone who has MCC access.
- Auto-tagging must be on in Google Ads: Admin → Account settings → Auto-tagging. Without it, no GCLID is generated.
Step by step
- Open Settings → Integrations.
- On the Google Ads card, click Connect.
- In the Google window, choose the account with access to Google Ads and approve the requested permissions.
- In the panel window that opens, choose the Manager account (MCC) if you have one, then the Ad account to connect.
- Confirm with Connect. The card shows a Connected badge; reports start filling within a few hours.
What is GCLID, and why does it matter?
When a patient clicks your Google ad, Google adds a unique click ID (GCLID) to the landing page address as gclid=…. If that ID is saved to the contact record with the form submission:
- You know exactly which campaign and keyword the patient came from.
- When the patient attends a consultation or has the procedure, that outcome can later be sent back to Google Ads as a "conversion", so Google optimises your ads towards people who actually become patients.
For GCLID to be captured, the form the patient fills in must be connected to MedicalGrow:
| The form on your website | GCLID |
|---|---|
| A MedicalGrow form or chat widget embedded on your site | Captured automatically |
| Your site's own form (e.g. WordPress) | The form needs a hidden gclid field passed to the contact record |
| The patient only taps a WhatsApp button | GCLID isn't passed; source tracking is limited |
Note
Connecting your website forms to MedicalGrow and sending sales outcomes (appointments, won opportunities) back to Google Ads as offline conversions require automation. These features aren't available to users in your plan; message our support team to set them up.
Example: you spend £3,000 a month on a "veneers Turkey" campaign in the UK. Thanks to GCLID-tagged records, you see that it brought 120 leads, 35 consultations and 11 treatments — while "dental implants abroad" brought more treatments from fewer leads. Your budget decision is based on data, not guesswork.
Common issues
My ad account isn't in the list. The Google account you chose has no access to it, or it sits under a different MCC. Reconnect with the right account.
Reports show spend, but leads have no campaign details. Auto-tagging is off, or your form doesn't pass the GCLID. Check against the table above.
Spend doesn't exactly match Google Ads. Make sure currency, time zone and date range are the same; data can update with a few hours' delay.
