Connect TikTok
Connect your TikTok for Business ad account so Instant Form leads turn into contact records automatically.
3 min read
TikTok is one of the fastest ways to reach younger patients abroad, especially for hair transplants, aesthetics and cosmetic dentistry. Connect TikTok lead generation (Instant Form) ads to MedicalGrow and every patient who fills in a form lands in Contacts, so your coordinator can call before the patient has even left TikTok.
What's supported?
| Feature | Status |
|---|---|
| Importing TikTok Instant Form (lead generation) leads as contacts | ✓ Supported |
| Mapping form questions to contact fields and Custom Fields | ✓ Supported |
| Recording TikTok as the lead's source | ✓ Supported |
| Replying to TikTok DMs in Conversations | ✗ Currently US accounts only; not available in Europe, the UK and other regions |
| Organic video comments in the panel | ✗ Not supported |
Before you start
- A TikTok for Business (TikTok Ads Manager) ad account on which you're an admin.
- At least one Instant Form created in TikTok Ads Manager (campaign objective: Lead generation).
- Custom Fields created in advance for your custom questions (e.g. "Estimated Grafts", "Planned Travel Date").
Connect your TikTok account
- Open Settings → Integrations.
- On the TikTok card, click Connect.
- In the TikTok window, log in with your TikTok for Business account. Make sure every box on the permissions screen is ticked (they are by default) and click Confirm.
- If you have more than one ad account, choose the advertiser account your leads should come from. The card shows a Connected badge.
Map form fields
- Open the TikTok card (Manage) and switch to the TikTok Form Fields Mapping tab.
- Choose the Instant Form you want to map from the dropdown.
- For each form question, choose a MedicalGrow field (use the Map Fields button to open the mapping screen if needed). Name, phone and email go to standard fields; custom questions go to Custom Fields.
- Click Save.
Heads up
If you add a question to a live form or create a new form, map it again. Answers to unmapped questions don't appear in the panel.
Where do leads land?
- The patient is created as a new contact in Contacts, with TikTok form recorded as the source.
- If a contact with the same phone or email exists, no new record is created; the existing contact is updated.
- Automations on new leads — adding tags, creating a pipeline opportunity, sending a welcome message — aren't available to users in your plan. Our support team sets these flows up for you; tell us which tag each form should add when we set it up.
Example: Lucas Martin fills in your German-targeted "Hair Transplant – Free Graft Analysis" form and lands in the panel with "Estimated Grafts = 3000" and "Planned Travel Date = September"; your German-speaking coordinator greets him the same day with a WhatsApp template.
Test the connection
TikTok doesn't offer a public testing tool like Meta does. A reliable way to test:
- In TikTok Ads Manager, run the ad that contains your form with a small budget (or use an existing campaign).
- Open the ad preview on your phone and fill in the form with your own details.
- Within a few minutes, check in Contacts that the record was created and custom answers landed in the right fields.
- Delete the test record.
Note
Leads that arrived before you connected aren't imported automatically. Download them as a CSV from the leads list in TikTok Ads Manager and upload them with contact import.
Common issues
The form is mapped, but no contacts arrive. Check that the TikTok connection still shows Connected and the right ad account is selected. If the problem continues, message our support team; on some accounts the form flow has to be activated on our side.
The connection dropped on its own. A password change or removed permission on TikTok ends the connection. Reconnect with Reconnect on the card.
